Trulli Hotels

Trulli – unique architectural structures with a conical roof. Such buildings are found only in southern Italy and most of them are located in the Apulia region near Alberobello. Moreover, the trulli of this region are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Many of these buildings have been upgraded to holiday apartments and hotels. The house is two-story, the room is under a conical roof. Although the hotel rooms are trulli small, they always have a private bathroom. A feature of relaxing in trulli is a comfortable indoor temperature – because of the thick walls in the hot season, coolness is provided, and in the cold, isolation from the cold occurs.

The most popular hotels – trulli:
Grand Hotel La Chiusa di Chietri (172 dei Trulli km 29.800, 70011 Alberobello) – a huge hotel with green areas, a swimming pool and a village of trulli;
Fontana Vecchia B&B (Strada Provinciale Canale Di Pirro Km 1.1, 70013 Castellana Grotte) – a hotel consisting of trulli houses with a swimming pool, garden and excellent views of the surrounding olive groves and fruit trees;
Casa Relax Isabelle (Contrada Terranova 89, 70043 Santa Lucia) is a family-run hotel with a trulli building. The rooms have an LCD TV and free Wi-Fi.

Sassi Cave Hotels

Sassi is a charming cave town that is the historical center of Matera in southern Italy. Sassi is listed as a living “cultural landscape” in the UNESCO World Heritage Book. On the territory of Sassi there are many cave houses, churches, grottoes, underground catacombs, palaces, ponds – all this is cut down in a rock or built of stone. There are also hotels that have been modernized and renovated. Now Sassi hotels have internet, heating, air conditioning. In the hotel town of Sassi di Matera there are 18 hotels of various levels of comfort.
